What is the extra quota?
Extra quota refers to quota additionally purchased for shipment tracking when the allocated quotas have been consumed in your current plan. It allows users to track shipments beyond their allocated quotas.
How to utilize the extra quota?
When all allocated quotas are consumed, newly synchronized shipments won't be tracked, indicated by "Insufficient Quota" in the tracking details on the Shipment page.
Users are notified of untracked shipments and available extra quota at the top of the Shipment page.
Two methods to use extra quota:
① Click the "Track" button in the reminder at the top of the Shipment page to track all untracked shipments collectively.
② Click the "Track" button in the "Latest event" column of tracking details to track shipments individually.
Charges for extra quota
The pricing varies depending on the subscription plan:
Basic & Pro Plan: $0.05 per extra quota
Premium Plan: $0.08 per extra quota
How to review extra quota billing?
Navigate to Shopify Settings > App and sales channels to check the billing for extra quota.
Limits on extra quota
The available extra quota amount is limited, calculated as follows:
Users can spend at most an amount equal to 60% of the current plan billing (rounded up) to buy extra quota.
For example, in a Basic plan of $9 with each extra quota costing $0.05, the maximum amount a user can spend on extra quota would be $9 * 60% = $5.4, rounded up to $6.
The available extra quota amount = $6 / $0.05 = 120
